1. Name and registered office
Under the name Croquet Club Steinhausen.
The club is not a non-profit organization as defined in Articles 60-63 of the Swiss Civil Code. The club in the Canton of Zug is politically, socially, and religiously neutral.
2. Association membership
The club intends to become a member of the ASC Association Suisse de Croquet.
3. The purpose of the Croquet Club Steinhausen
To promote the sport of croquet in all its forms, to foster camaraderie among club members, and to contribute to the popularity of the game of croquet.
4. Organization
The club’s governing bodies are:
o Annual Members’ Meeting
o The club’s board of directors manages the day-to-day operations and represents the club internally and externally
5. Club revenues
The club’s income is made up of membership fees and patron contributions, sponsorship money and from events.
Membership fees:
Individual members 100.-CHF
Family including children 80.-CHF
Pensioner / AHV 60 -CHF
Students, pupils and trainees free of charge
The club’s financial year begins on January 1st and ends on December 31st. The club’s liabilities are covered by the club’s assets; therefore, personal liability of the members is excluded.
6. Membership
Membership is open to all individuals who have an interest in community gatherings and are willing to contribute to the club, for example, by helping with preparations for events, tournaments, and other activities.
A patron is someone who does not actively participate in the club but financially supports our endeavors and interests.
7. Members’ rights
Only active members have voting rights. They are entitled to participate in competitions and training. Patron members do not have voting rights, but they are entitled to participate in training, events, and meetings.
8. Duties of members
All members are required to pay their membership fees on time by April 30th of each year.
9. Membership admission
Anyone can become a new member upon the recommendation of an existing member. Upon receipt of the membership application form and payment of the dues, they become a member for the current calendar year. With this, they acquire all the rights and obligations of a member.
10. Membership expires
a) by written notification to the board at any time.
Paid membership fees are non-refundable.
b) in case of non-payment of the membership fee by April 31 (without stating valid reasons)
Stage: Failure to pay by June 30th will result in loss of voting rights and no participation in tournaments.
Stage: The board sets a deadline for payment; if the deadline is not met, membership is terminated.
The person concerned may appeal this decision at the Annual General Meeting. To do so, they must request in writing that the matter be addressed by the General Meeting within 30 days of receiving notification. Upon termination of membership, the member forfeits all rights vis-à-vis the club. They have no claim to the club’s assets.
11. Annual General Meeting
The general meeting is the highest governing body of the club. It consists of all club members. It is responsible for the following tasks:
o Adoption and amendment of the club constitution
o Election of the Board
o Setting the annual goals
The Annual General Meeting is convened by the Board of Directors at least 20 days in advance and is held within two months of the end of the financial year. Notice of the meeting is given in writing. Electronic notification to an email address provided by the member is also considered written notification. The Annual General Meeting is held at least once a year.
12. Board
The board is responsible for implementing and carrying out the resolutions of the annual general meeting. The board consists of two members, each elected for a one-year term. They are eligible for re-election. The board constitutes itself. The club is legally bound by the joint signature of two board members.
The tasks of the board are:
o Taking the necessary measures to achieve the club’s objectives.
o Decision on the admission, resignation, and possible exclusion of members.
o Monitoring compliance with the statutes and managing the club’s assets.
13. Liability
The club’s assets alone are liable for its debts. Each member is personally responsible for taking out accident insurance.
14. Dissolution
The dissolution of the club is decided by the members’ annual general meeting and requires a two-thirds majority of the members present.
Adoption of the statutes
These statutes were adopted by the founding assembly on August 3, 2026.
